the virus.

Since the phone did not even rang or receive any text message for me to answer since morning and I got nothing to do ( nothing to do ?? I haven't even revise for mid-term exam =.=" ) , i decided to update the blog background. And ya, as can be seen here, I changed the background to somewhat so very simple theme. I love it this way since I'm not really a fan of a complicated theme.

Have you heard about this latest disease which recently is a top news in the nation ? The Rotavirus ? well, I don't really be up-to-date to daily news but I heard about it yesterday and decided to search about it on the net. If I'm not mistaken, it has already took away 2 infants life. Since SHARING IS CARING, I'll post the links I opened to read about it :p
here's something I get from my reading.

It's an infection which usually causes severe illness to infants which is in between 6 - 24 months. It also infect adults, but usually the illness in adults is mild.
symptoms are as follow :
  • Vomiting
  • Upset stomach
  • Watery diarrhea ( lasts for 3 - 9 days )
  • Severe dehydration
  • High fever
  • Loss of appetite
  • Mucus in stool.
It's water-borne and also can be transmitted through contact with contaminated stool that then gets ingested. This means that if the child don't wash their hands properly after going to toilet, others could also get the infection. So wash your hands properly as many times as needed, especially after toilet.Other precautionary steps to take are to boil drinking water, wash hands with soap before and after meals, and before preparing food.
Since the infected person, usually infants, gets severe vomiting and diarrhea, the risk of dehydration is high. severe dehydration could lead to death, we don't want that to happen. so in order to avoid this, proper supportive treatment to keep the infant hydrated is essential.

actually there more about it, but then I know it's quite boring to read it here, so, just read it from here :: ROTAVIRUS ::

# sleepy, sleepy. Bye.
